The ride starts out gentlly along the flats giving your legs time to warm up if you have driven to the meeting place.

The bunch then takes a left from Bridge Rd into McIntyre Rd & then a dog leg right into Nelson Rd which starts out as a short & gentle climb (cat 4 - No serious points for the mountain goats, the good stuff is still to come), with a nice little pinch at the top to ensure your warm up is now complete. Once over the crest the front runners should ease up & allow the bunch to regroup.

The bunch then gets some recovery as it make its way down Grand Junction Rd then left into Hampstead Rd with some intermediate points up for grabs half way down Hampstead Rd at the pedistrian crossing.

It's then time for more recovery, a bite on the move (breakfast for those who slept in that little extra) as the bunch passes through the feed station whist making its way past the Marden Shopping Centre, down Payneham Rd into Lower North East Rd & then onto George Rd.

George Rd starts out as a Genlte incline, preparing your legs for what is the Hores category climb called The Cork Screw. The bunch takes a right off Geroge Rd (about 1/2 - 1 km past the Ready Mix quarry) into Cork Screw Rd, with the gentle gradient still continuing for now.

In my opinion the climb starts as you cross the single lane bridge, & for me (someone who is big boned & prefers the criterium season) I just have to lump it into the biggest cog I've got, grit my teath & ignore the pain. Its not an overly long climb, but its steep (gradient unkown). Maxiumum Mountain Points for the first goat to the T-Junction.

Once you reach the T-Junction at Montacute Rd, turn right & its all down hill which you should take easy using a little gear so as to spin the lactic acid out of your legs & again allow the bunch to regroup.

From here its out of the valley past the Newton Shopping Centre & then back onto Lower North East Rd where it is a steady climb all the way up to Hancock Rd. The bunch should try to keep it all together, using little gears & keeping your cadence high. From Hancock Rd, into Yatala Vale RD & on to Golden Grove Way. From there its all down hill & then back onto Main North Rd & heading for the local coffee shop to refuel.
