The Southern Veloway runs from the intersection of Marion and South Roads in the Adelaide suburb of Darlington all the way out to Old Reynella, where it joins onto the Marino-Willunga Rail Trail. The initial climb up O'Halleran Hill is a good heart starter, but the gradient is low enough almost anyone can sit and spin their way to the top. From the there just follow the path to where it comes to an intersection where passes through a tunnel, follow the main flow to the left. The only other time you are required to navigate at all is at the T-intersection where the Veloway meets the Rail Trail again, this time head through the underpass to the right (downhill). Now just follow the path through the back of Seaford and into McLaren Vale. You will have to use Main Road through town until you get to the "Almond Train Cafe". Here if your on a hybrid or MTB, proceed through the carpark onto the unsealed section of RailTrail, or on a roadie continue up to Field Street. Turn left into Field for about 300m until you rejoin the bikepath on your right through the park. From there it's a very pretty 7kms to Willunga.
