Arthur's Creek - Was that Cadel Evans that I saw??? 15/11/2009
A jaunt - on a hot day - saw my mate, Pablo, and I saw "go north" until he tackled the infamous Gorge Road, er, well, gorge. By Ge-orge, he did it, but he was more scared going down than struggling going up!!! White knuckle stuff there. Anyway, Pablo headed back after that I kept going into them thar hills. Found myself in Cadel Evans territory - Arthur's Creek. Only difference being that I'm double the weight of Cadel Evans and that there would have been not the slightest mistaken of me for him. (Apart from the fact that he's probably not there any more - just his mum - plus his bike's about 10x more valuable and he'd be going about twice my speed). Anyway, it's mighty hilly out there and that was enough for me on a hot day - I was going to go up to Kinglake, but too hot, too hilly; ego not needing assuaging that much. So, back down hill eventually to Eltham and Mr Air-Conditioned Connex. Hot as Hades; Pink as a Rock Star. - a 40.9 mi cycling route in Melbourne, Australia
