Doug, as you know cyclists are the type that would rather ride than sit at a screen. As you can see there is only 10 out of 100+ of us in this group and the Facebook group has a large number non partcipants or last year riders. I'm sure the GWTA folks have too few people for too much work and the ride event will be even better than it was last year.
See you there,
Mark
This years ride will be better. When it comes to any annual function it seems that every year gets better because of lessons learned from the organizer's perspective. I'm very much looking forward to this years ride.
I agree with Mark, if things seem slow in the Internet rooms it's most likely due to people being out and active and keeping up with their training.
The organizers are cramming tons of work especially this last month. I believe Ian will be sending out an email to everyone very soon with specific details concerning the daily itinerary and special events that are happening.
That being said I would also love for the Facebook, MapMyRide, and Waterfront website to be more active too.
For now though, I'm back to focusing on my training.
Antonio.
Mike, the organizers will address the options available before we leave Fort York.
Mark
Hey Mike,
Sorry for such a late reply. I have been trying to squeeze in bike rides whenever I can and keep up with my training (still not doing as much as I would be comfortable doing but hey...trying my best)
And I don't check this forum daily as I find it's not that busy here. Maybe that's changing and so I will put more effort in checking this forum. :)
Like Mark mentioned the organizers will go over the options with you. As well we have our own group leader which will go over the daily ride with us every morning.
If you didn't want to wait I think it would be okay if you emailed Ian, the tour organizer and ask him. I do know that last year some riders did not stick to the actual Waterfront Trail path that is outlined. They took their own shortcuts and stayed on some main streets as well.
From what I remember "The Beach" and "Scarborough area" was probably the toughest because of the constant criss-crossing through residential areas and hills.
This is a great question and would like to hear if you get an answer before our ride.
Take care!
Antonio
Mike
As there doesn't seem to be a messaging function on this board, I sent you an email to your address that you have registered on Bikeforums.net.
