Just had lunch with one of my running friends who had recently been laid off. He told me about his buddy Scott who was also laid off from the same company. Scott decided to sell all his possessions, liquidate his assets, by a bunch of gear, and cycle from Ft. Lauderdale to Alaska. In real life! He is now in Vancouver. I thought some of you may be interested in checking out his blog he is keeping along the way. In addition to being a bit nutty, he is also a techy so he has tons of cool gear, and he is an amazing photographer. OK, just though I would share. www.powercycle.net

Really cool Patty. I'll use the site to help waste time and live vicariously. :)

There's a group I know from College who set out from AL this summer with the goal of going cross country to the golden gate bridge and back. Should be fun, but I think they said they'd have to average 80-100mi/day to make it.

I haven't heard much since they left. I've gotten a few emails telling us where tehy are, but that's about it.

How cool is that? I had a buddy ride from LA to DC with his wife to raise money for the deaf. His wife's deaf by the way. I enjoyed reading about their journey and living vicariously. Now we all can. Thanks for sharing Patty.
