Now that it is all over, I want to thank the mapmyride staff and all the sponsors that made the challenge possible. I had a number of co-workers, friends, & family that took part, and we talked about the results daily. I know that it added greatly to our enjoyment of the Tour de France, and we are already looking forward to next year when we can do it all again!

     Thanks again,

Sticking with the gratitude theme, I will say that the premise of the contest is a very good one. Even though it has its serious flaws I rode as much as I was able to and stayed in the contest. It certainly did provide me that extra motivation. Thank you MMF for giving it the 'ol college try.

Measuring my results against my fellow "unverifed" riders (as I don't have a gps device) I finished 679 out of 17,125 competitors. Semi-pleased but probably would have been higher if it were not for the many fraudsters who posted bogus rides/speeds.

I sincerely hope that the MMF team gives the contest a good massage for 2010 and the playing field is designed to be a bit more fair. Again, I did enjoy the real TdF comparative aspect and I actually do look forward to next years edition.
