Help!: Mapping impossible routes

Hi, I was trying to map a route today, but, according to the map, the road doesn't exist! Houses and roads that have been constructed for a few years aren't on there. At times, I can't really guess where the  roads even are, because it's just plain wilderness! Apparently, the maps haven's  been updated in a while. Any suggestions?

Hi, have you tried using the Satelite, Hybrid or Topo button, its lower right in the map page, I use this for plotting kayaking routes on canals and rivers in the UK,as the map is way off.

Even if the Sat image is not new enough to have the new houses or streets on it. You could Probably make a good guess using corners of fields, ditches, pylons or tree lines etc. Hope this may help. N
