    Sue and I are relocating to Alexandria, VA from Melbourne Australia in April and hope to find a group road ride or two.  We ride 3-4 times a week in Melbourne now both on Beach Road during the week with BayRiders and just ourselves around Arthurs Seat/Red Hill on the weekends.   Any advice or introductions for our new home would be greatly appreciated

    Sue, welcome to Alexandria,VA. I started a bicycle meetup group in Alexandria. It is in it's beginning stages and don't have a during the week rides as of yet. Hopefully this will change real soon.

I have several rides mapped out in my profile of area rides and I am the Vice-president of my racing club here in D.C. so any help you need let me know.

    also, I have found the online bike maps of DC and Arlington to be very helpful.  The Mount Vernon trail is great (well depending on what you're looking for- its scenic and accessible, but pretty flat).
