When I log a run for March, the run is automatically adding the distance from the run I have already run in that month (ie - cumulated total) and then adding that to the runs already taken, which is inflating my overall distance for the month.
eg - So far this month, I have logged 4.23 km on Monday, then 7.38km on Thursday. The Thursday run is showing up in my training log as 11.61 and my total for the month is showing 15.84. I have tried deleting the Thursday run and logging it again (3 times now) and it just keeps doing it. When the run is logged it shows the correct didtance, but changes when shown on my monthly tracker.
Yes, I'm experiencing the same problem since the beginning of March. Almost seems a problem in conversion of miles and kilometers. I'm using the kilometers, but the distance of 12.5 is somehow continuously saved as 20+ km, no matter what I try. Before March I never had this problem. I also noticed the help of the Pedometer, when all I'm using is bike rides, no runs at all.
I'm having a sort of similar problem. I've logged 3 runs this month: 8.77km, 11.15km and 11.88km. According to my sums, that adds up to 31.8km, but my monthly total is standing at 39.08km.
This is messing up my group training logs and my 100-miles-in-a-month progress...
I have a similar problem but mine seems even stupidier! I enter my route which brings up the distance, e.g. 9.58km. then when i save the workout it automatically changes this to 15.42km!!!??? Its driving me insane! I just realised that 9.58 x 1.6 is close to this amount so it appears that its automatically changing it into miles *sigh*.
I really love the idea of this site but for the amount of time its taking to work through all the problems i'm ready to give up and go back to using runnersworld.com
I have a similar problem.. i log a route in km and then when i go to save it and add it to my workout the auto read distance is always much higher... i think by the ame factor of 1.6. it seems to rectify/calculate correctly when you go back into the run after it is saved and edit the details. but this is a bit annoying
Hi, I have the same problem too.
I logged a 9.67km run but it's showing up as 15.56km. I tried deleting the log and re-inserting it for a few times but it didn't work.
I am having the same problem and it also started from my first entry in March. My entry for today was a 6k run and when I saved it, it was recorded as 9.66. This does seem to me like it is taking the entered distance as miles and then converting it to kilometres, ie multiplying by 1.609 (or very close to that). I can change it to the right distances by opening the entry from the training log and putting in the correct distance and it then saves corectly but that is a pain. Anyway I hope that this is rectified soon.
Same problem here... I select a route with a certain distance in kilometers which ist then converted in miles but shown as kilometers. Beginning in March.
Yup, I've got exactly the same problem (and I'm using Safari, not IE), although for me I don't think it started until 7 March - if I enter a run of 12.71 km it credits me with 20.45 km. I have been able to go back and edit the distances, but it is a drag and it would be great if you could get the bug fixed. Mind you, I wish I had run the distances displayed!!
I am having the same problem. Inflated kilometres. Makes me feel good that I have done the extra training. My problem started in Feb, I have been going in and editing the distances once saved.
Hey sorry guys -- I just forwarded it again to our development team and made it the #1 priority today. I apologize about the annoyance this is causing you and I really appreciate the feedback we've gotten!
My name is steve@mmf and I am one of the developers working on this site. First off, let me apologize for the inconvenience and frustration this has caused many of you. Sorry. :-(
The error described in this thread is related to a mi/km bug that has recently been fixed. [There was a period of a couple days when workouts entered into the system as kms may have incorrect data.]
During the process of debugging this problem, I went ahead and fixed the data for several of the users who posted here. [cheaney, kammie and serial_runner should be all set with good data.
How to Fix Your Data if you believe your Distances are Incorrect
- Start on your training calendar page
- Click on your workout with the incorrect distances
- If you've got a route attached to this workout*, make a mental note of your route, change the route to some other distance (you'll notice the Total Distance change), then change the route back to the correct route. You should now see the correct distance displayed in the Total Distance field.
- Click on SAVE NOW!
- Click on Update > (to confirm the update)
- And that's it!
Repeat the procedure above for any/all of your workouts with apparent distance problems in order to fix your total distances.
Note: Performing the procedure above should not harm correct distances in any way, shape or form!
* If you have no route attached to a workout and believe your distances are incorrect, manually enter the correct distance in the Total Distance field, then click on SAVE NOW! and follow the rest of the procedure outlined above.
