I'll be in Europe backpacking/travelling for about 8 weeks this summer. The only downside to this is that I won't be able to bring my bike!

Does anyone have any suggestions for keeping up with at least some form of exercise while I'm over there? Running is not a very good choice for me- I have chronic tendonitis in both of my ankles and can't run very much at all (hence why I cycle now instead of run).

    Thanks!

I guess it depends on where in Europe you are planning to go, but I know that there are plenty of cycle hire shops in France/UK/Netherlnds. They might not be the best bikes, but you'll at least be able to keep riding!

Some cities are also starting to adopt schemes to encourage pople to cycle, whereby you pay a flat rate, and can cycle from any bike depot (for want of a better term) to another and drop the bike off there, so you dont have to go back to the point you started from.

I guess it wuold be good to do some research of the places you intend to visit so you now what to expect when you get there.
