I experienced a similar problem with both Firefox and IE 6. When I edit a route and add new notes, all the original notes are lost. It is most infuriating when trying to correct erroneous turns that Follow Roads option makes incorrectly.
Just plotted along route with lots of notes. First 10 or so notes disappeared on save. I went back to add them. Added about 5 and saved. The 5 new notes were there but all the rest disappeared. THIS SYSTEM IS REALLY TOTALLY UNRELIABLE. Just forget it.
I had notes in a route. When I edited the route, I lost all the earlier notes. This also implies that if you edit a route to move the points around, you'll probably lose the notes as well.
For now, I'm putting in all the notes at one time, and then freezing the route and not changing it any more. Then, I look at the notes, copy them, and paste them into a word file. I can edit them there. As an added bonus, these notes have the mileage markers while the ones that you print with the map don't seem to have them.
I hope this gets fixed soon. Right now, I'm putting comments about mistakes in the notes into comments on the ride, because I can't correct the notes.

Still having problems on the notes. Two issues that I see. First, only a certain number of characters are saved for the notes. I put in 30 characters and only half showed up. Second is the issue where the notes that were there when you first did the route disappear when you edit the route. For long routes this is heartbreaking.
I just mapped an entire route for a fundraiser I'm doing and had the notes up there...but also ran into a problem when I went back the next day and the notes were gone....please keep us informed of a fix to this problem!
I too just mapped a route for an upcoming public walk and lost half of the route (map lines) and my notes when I tried to save. I spent a good deal of time on it, but will not use it again if this is the result. I just wasted hours of time trying to create a map to share with the group. This is very frustrating.
Send the link to the routes that this happenning and we can take a look at each individual case -- I apologize for this happening as we thought we had this issue fixed.
