Ok, so I'm just curious what everyone uses to log their miles. Take this as a braggging fest for your equipment, or your list of what you use until you get the ability to get better equipment. Just a simple little fun to see what everyone is using...
I'll start.
For swimming - nothing fancy. TYR swim shorts, speedo goggles, generic hand paddles, and a sportcount lap counter (makes counting so easy).
For biking - my mountain bike is the college hand-me-down that has served well. Walmart glory that cost $100. I've put some upgrades on it, painted it, and attempted to make it more comfortable, but it's nowhere near what I'm wanting. I currently do not have a road bike just yet, but am saving for one. I have my eye on a TREK 1.2 or TREK 1.5. So for my bike miles, I'm logging them on the precor trainer at the local YMCA.
For running - I have a trusty pair of Nike Structure Triax 10+ with Powerstep Insoles. They currently have nearly 250mi on them and are starting to show some signs of destruction. Great shoes though.
I'm still in the market for a HRM and a road bike. Once those two come in, I'll be good to go and will be ready for some serious mile logging.
So, what kind of gear do you sport?

Nice thread.
Shoes:
Nike,Yelow, Black,Silver Running Shoes - Somewhere around 300+ miles
Brooks, Adrenaline Grey, Orange - 12.27 miles and sqeaky new. See Avatar.
Watch:
Timex, Iron Man Sleek - I would love to test drive the Garmin 405 Roadrunner.
Music Player:
Apple, Blue iPod Shuffle
Bike: Non-suspension montain bike with the "old-school" bull horn handle bars. 18 speed, knobby tires (26x2.2), can sometimes be seen pulling a 4 year old in an advent bike trailer (adds resistance). Soon I will have my road tires (26x1.5) for additional speed. I use a Schwinn cyclo-computer to keep trak of the miles. Since it get's warm here in Phoenix, I also use a cheap set off lights so I can ride at night.
No special spandex for this guy. I have some cycling shorts I waer and usually a Hi-Vis jersey for safety.
My bike is a 2000 Klein Quantum Pro, aluminum frame with carbon fork. I bought it used from a friend I ride with, one of those guys that wants a new bike every 2 or three years (my recommendation: find one of those guys!). Here is a pic:
The wheel set is brand new from Bontrager, components are brand new Shimano Dura-Ace 10-speed. Pedals are Speed-play, shoes are by Shimano, saddle is Terry Fly Gel. Total Weight - I don't actually know, but it is obscenely light. I LOVE this bike.
Cycle computer is the Garmin Forerunner 305. Got it in March. Maybe the most fun toy I've ever bought.
I don't do any sports seriously except cycling. I jog a little, but running is hard, it hurts, and takes forever to get anywhere. Swimming gets me all wet and takes even longer. You guys who do those things, you have my respect. Cycling makes me feel like a kid again and I wish I could do it all day every day.

Various running technical tees from races I've done. Shorts are a mix of running and soccer shorts found on sale. Standard running socks. Big fan of Asics 2130s. Have "The Stick" for those after work out soreness.
Far as gadgets go, Garmin 201. Best thing I bought for running. I was recently talked into by my brother to try out the Ipod Nike plus thing but so far I haven't had a favorable experience yet. It's typically way off from both MapMyRun and my Garmin. I'll give it a few more runs to see if it gets better but for now it's not very helpful.
JB, don't feel bad about that Nike Plus sensor for the ipod. I don't like it either. Unfortunatly, the battery in the little shoe pod has already died within a year too!
I found the distances off and I kept constantly checking on my pace and times instead of enjoying the run. I find if I use my basic mp3 player and just let it play, that works out quite well for me!
Explain "the stick". Never heard of it.
The Stick (http://www.thestick.com) is essentially a rolling pin. Imagine your muscles as dough and The Stick will "knead" out the soreness. I use it just about every morning when I wake up (just a few strokes over each muscle group) to warm up my muscles and usually after a hard run. It's handy because you can use it pretty well on yourself or have someone help you while you relax ;)
