Your site used to work great every time. Now it is full of adds, slow to load and wont show elevational charts.

I hope you can get it fixed before I find another site that works as well as yours used to.

Best wishes.

I've had similar complaints about the new site, but I'm confident that they'll be worked out, as they have been in the past. Great job with the improvements, by the way! (nothing's perfect in the very beginning).

In addition to echoing the tedium associated with the notes popping up that others have mentioned, I'd like to mention that the road notes that sum up the route I mapped (the ones that say Right on __ road, Left of __ road, etc.) are incorrect in that they say Right when it should be Left, and Left when it should be Right. I was staying in a hotel in an unfamiliar area and was mapping out a new route. This really messed me up, as I just jotted down the turns instead of printing out the map (from reading these comments it seems I couldn't have anyways), and there were a few wrong turns, taking me out of my way, and making me ask directions from dogwalkers. Did I mention I was in an unfamiliar area? I was lost when I shouldn't have been-- since I was diligent and mapped it out first! The url of the map is below.

http://www.mapmyrun.com/run/united-states/nc/charlotte/898783312

I created the map two days ago, but just checked the map again, and it's still wrong. Hopefully you can fix the wrong turns?

I agree completely. Love the auto notes, but not always. Just add a nested checkbox below "Follow roads" to disable auto notes.

Hey, now there is a delete link on each note - Thanks! But shouldn't I only be able to delete notes when I create or update a route? I see the "delete" link when I'm viewing a route.

And thank you very much for the mile marker controls!

Steve, that's not very helpful.

LaBaum: I posted elsewhere: "The symptoms you describe aren't related to the new site. It's simply
because you're clicking on intersections which you should never do when
in the follow roads mode. Always click on the road after the
intersection you go through, not right at the intersection. When you
click right on the intersection the program doesn't know exactly which
street you intend to be on so when you intend to go straight but click
slightly to the right it will do a right, a U, and another right; or
worse when you plan to go RIGHT and click just a foot past the
intersection it will go straight, make a U, and go LEFT. So never
click on the intersection; click on the road segment you want to be on
past the intersection.

"This behavior has always been there, and is a perfectly logical
interpretation of what you mean when you click at an intersection. All
the sites that use the "follow roads" methodology have this behavior."

It's a matter of learning how to use this tool. Kind of like using a hammer - you have to figure out which end to hit the nail with. Except this one isn't as intuitive.

So many comments above that I'm not sure if this has been posted, but what's up with the activity detail. I can't save to my training log after creating a route. It prompts me to fill in the detail but I can't click on the field. Also, I'm having a hard time filling in that field when I just log my training without creating a route. It's very tempermental.

What's with all the pop ups over the maps too...very annoying.

The list continues....but I've already spent way too much time on this site tonight. Frustrating!

Just created my first new map with the new mapping tool since the new design went into place. I have to say I found the experience better than mapping a similar lenght route with the old tool. It was mostly on a bike trail so following the road was not an option. That meant lots of mouse clicks since the trail has lots of curves. It was much more responsive than the previous mapping interface. Some of the options will take a little time to get used to, but I personnaly believe it is an improvement. I have not experienced any of the issues that others have mentioned with one exception: I added the route to my training log and when I did so, I could not track my gear. Said I had no gear to track, when in fact I have 4 pairs of shoes and a bike. However, when I went to the training log and updated the workout, I could add my gear in there. I am on Windows XP pro/IE7 with all the latest patches from Microsoft.

With regard to the premium membership debate, I haven't yet found a reason that would make it worth my $48 to jump up to that. The only thing that I see that I use that is on the list of Premium membership features is the Distance by Activity report and so far, that is still working for me as a standard member.
