    Hi everyone,

     

    I'm a female runner, who has set a goal of runing a marathon before reaching 40th birthday  (next June).  i'm looking for a partner to do long runs with at weekends as part of my training to do Copenhagen marathon in  May 2009.

    I've done a half marathon before (Wilmslow 2008) but injury (shin Splints and hip problems) forced me to abandon the planned Dublin Marathon in October 2008 and i've now set myself a new goal.  I'm currently run/walking in addition to cross training(swimming/weights) to try and regain my strength... speed unfortunately has never been my strong point, but i'd love to change that!

    I'm based in Stretford manchester and usually run the Mersey Valley / Urmston/Sale/Worsley areas

    Anyone avilable to keep me motivated on weekend runs?

    Hi Mo, im based in Chorlton and im training for a half marathon at the moment, run to the beat 5th October, so im running long runs at the weekend, 1hr to 1hr 45 mins. Im 39 as well and im running an average of 5.50km, if you fancy running together drop me a line, Alan.

    Hi Mo

    I'm a run/walker (hurrah for Jeff Galloway!) and training for the Athens Marathon in November.  I'll be doing long runs at the weekends.  I'm not particularly fast (5.5 miles an hour on a good day) as I'm working through an IT band injury.  I'm more interested in going the distance and working on maintaining a consistent speed over the longer distances.  I know speed will come with time.

    I'm over in Longsight (Slade Lane area).  My current 10 mile run takes me through Fallowfield, Chorlton Didsbury and Burnage but I need to increase the distance and was eyeing extending the run over to Stretford and Sale.

     Let me know if you're interested in getting together.

    By the way, I'll also be training for the San Francisco Marathon (Aug 2009) after Athens, so I'll have to keep up my training.  And unfortunately the long runs.
