It's been a bit quiet here. Julie, are you ok? I'm good, I still have my lovely bruise from Friday's adventure in the woods, but I'm ok. Infact, I'm going to tackle trails again tomorrow night (Thursday at 7pm, Wyco park for the Thursday night regular trail run courtesy of the Trail Nerds). I'll try this time to keep my HR lower than 175.

I think I'm going to regularly do at least 1 trail run a week because they are great alternate training, completely different than road/paved running. Good for the Lactate threshold training.
Julie, I've thought about it for several weeks and I decided to drop back to the half marathon for the race. I don't want to try to push to get the necessary miles in for the full and risk injury. Still a bit of niggling on the left achilles tendon. I am still planning on a hybrid of the 1/2 mixed with the full training plan. Maybe I can be ready for a full in the spring.
Yes- I have been quiet! I have had a horrible week of no sleep... never went to bed on Tuesday and was exhausted by Wed. night... finally got in 13 HOURS last night!! Just woke up! Ugh! SO! Congratulations Amy and Colleen... I wish I could have run the race, but I needed to be safe. I have only run once this week and slept through my run this morning... This Saturday- I will have a map for a 6 mile run and a 12 mile run. We can do 2 start times as well if you guys want- then we all finish together. The high on Saturday is listed as 77- so the 12 milers could start at 7am and the 6miler at 8am... I can create a loop that is 6 miles and we will loop around to pick up the second group. Sound ok? Also- next week Thursday night I will have an optional "open" hour for anyone to come in and discuss training or do a training tempo run. I am thinking 730pm. I can also do an earlier time on Wed- like 530pm or 7pm. Let me know what works for you. Stacy- we can also discuss your calendar after bootcamp on Wed. If you are going to attend let me know when, what your goals are (ie- adjusting calendar, running a temp run, injury problems etc...) and bring your calendar with you. If you have a great idea for our run this saturday- let me know- my plan is to do a loop that will include part of the steamway trail and loops through a street route. We can keep part of the run off pavement. I am also working on a full year training calendar to continue a training program for an assortment of races/distances year round for those wanting to finish first 5k all the way up to marathon and ultra. Those that have already started this program will be able to continue for 1/2 the cost of the original program. That way the program will build and hopefully we will have several groups at each training level/distance to join up with. Thanks and see you all soon! ps- i am running friday morning from snap at 7am. i will be running about 8 miles- if anyone would like to join me- meet me at the club at 645am! see you then!
