Add point before or after when editing route adds a point somewhere in outer space. The route becomes disjointed in the segment the added point is supposed to be. Sometimes I get a "segment too long" message. Several times I ended up with points in Asia.
I've had all of this too. I reported it via the "contact us" link and got the reply "am I sure I'm doing it right". Well yeah, I am. It's a bug that needs fixing.
Hey guys, what browsers are you using when you see this? This functionality works on our test systems with Firefox, and IE7. However, since we have seen reports like this, this is something that we need to look into further.
FYI, we're working on a new mapping engine...a rewrite from the ground up that should be a lot faster, and fix these types of issues. Stay tuned for an announcement here about a public beta for the new mapping engine soon.
It's working fine today on a very short test route, both on Firefox/2.0.0.7 and IE-v.6 [ route P-DG-TEST-IE6 ] under WinXP-SP2 .
Don't know what has changed. Did NOT reboot since yesterday. I didn't even close Firefox. Yesterday I had the problem come up at least 5 times - the lon="NaN" entry. When you save the route and then open it the point gets plotted somewhere in China.
Trying again on a longer route - problem is still there - see: P-DG-TEST-FX - using FireFox I tried to add point just after the 5 mile point and just befor the 30 mile point - I get:
With internet explore I don't get anything I get a click and nothing happens [ route P-DG-TEST-B-IE ]. Dialogue box does not go way until you click the close button.
I've also had this problem of trying to insert points, they usually just get added after the stop/finish point instead of where I was trying to insert the point or the program just hangs. I've had this in both IE and firefox.
In Firefox 2.0.0.6 I tried to add a point before and a point after the middle (bold) point and both times the latitude was fine but the longtitude was NaN.
In IE 6 SP2 on the other hand, it seems to work sometimes, and other times it just doesn't add a point at all. I can't really determine the pattern, although maybe it works with new routes and doesn't work when I try to edit an old route.
Both running on WinXP SP2.
Update: Confirmed that in IE6, adding points works fine for mapping new rides, but does not work when you try to edit an existing ride.
