We're testing out a new type of layout for our site. Leave comments, questions, or suggestions below. Remember, the site is built on the feedback of it's users like you!
Cheers,
-Kevin & the MapMyFitness Team
We're starting to roll it out on our event pages first and then will be testing it across other profile pages, etc.

hi great idea was asked to put in a map to our event so traced out a map and the expected to see submit or similar-could not see how I could download the map I had just created into our race event. How do you do that?
cheers
Carl
Hi Danocal,
Once we update the group page we'll be displaying this relationship in a more cross-linkable good way. We're going to be rolling out the new design over the coming couple of weeks.
Kevin
Love the new design! Very professional...but I submit an event in Buenos Aires and I can't see it online....it's about Urban Running Tours, could you please tell why could be?
Cheers,
Juan.
The calendar is a smaller, but is showing all the integrated applications off to the side necessary? Why not make it a side tab which can slide over as a user mouses over that section. That way you can maintain the larger calendar format. Add to this another tab that allows you to select charts to view your weekly/monthly stats.
Do like the mouse over popup summary of the workouts and journal as it looks better than the old one.
The calendar is too small, I agree, too much real estate given to the apps (which are not functional on the site, just links really). Calendar should be bigger than before.
The new icons are a step back in terms of artwork. Although they may seem better, from a design standpoint, they look more stock and gimmicky.
Plus, I redesigned the logo - I'd love for you guys to maybe use it. What do you think?
i like the layout just fine, but i cannot log a new workout into my calendar
it tells me i am not logged in, and i must be to log a workout, so although i am already logged in, i go through that step again, and it still won't let me log my run. i don't know if this is due to the new design or what, but i am not happy about it.
First - love the site, been using it for 2 years, recommend it often.
* I liked the old icons better, especially sports/activities [the new one looks to much like the runner]
* calendar too small in my opinion
* too much space devoted to the apps on the right. would be great if I used an iphone, but I don't
* Nice touch to have today's workouts!
* Perfect for me would be: 1] bigger calendar 2] few pages to input a workout 3] customizable workout input fields [give us ability to remove fields] 4] return to my training log view after inputing workout
* Overall still awesome!
I have edited, and added 3 bike routes I did the last three days, but althouhg it says success, they are NOT registering on my logout caledar. I hope this glitch is fixed soon! I found them listed , and they are incorpoated into the totals, but the bicycle logo links on the calendar were much better. Can see in anstent when worked out for the month and each bike was a link to the workout details. Please put it back.
i like the old logos better, they were simplier and more stylized. the new logos need more color to distinguish the different activities types from one another, they are a little more muted and monochromatic now. also, new calendar is a little smaller and more condensed, so things seems a little more squished together.
A moment ago I just logged a workout for today, and it doesn't show up on the training calendar for today, but it does show up in my total miles for the month.
Any ideas?
I quite like the busier dashboard approach.
I have a couple of longstanding gripes though that still exist in the new version.
1. Because I'm in New Zealand it always shows the current date as yesterday (some sort of timezone function required?)
2. The daily log always defaults my AM/PM weights to 355.29257 - very annoying!
There's too much space at the top of the page. That blue bar with the lonely ad sitting in it? It's pushing the calendar too far down on the page so that I have to scroll down to see it... users HATE scrolling! It looks like I'm not the only one who'd prefer the calendar back to being big and better positioned.
Icons - cycle icon looks like the person is riding a BMX as opposed to a road bike that most people who log on this site are probably riding - needs bigger wheels. The icons should represent more accurately what you've done. Swimming and running are ok. Things like Yoga, martial arts, football etc should have their own icon as opposed to a general one of a weigh lifter or a footballer.
Colours of the icons aren't as clear as they were before. The more colours the better. Bring back the green bike rider!
I don't like or ever use the odour logging thing which is clearly just a bit of Fabreeze marketing.
Cheers
New layout is fine. Looks slicker. I've had no probs using it to view or log events.
I did notice that naviagting between pages required a refresh yesterday.
However I'm waiting for the Windows Mobile compatuible verison of the site so I can log on the move rather than wait to get to my desktop PC.
I like the new swim and run icons. Not so sure about the cycle icons.
However, I think the calendar is too small with too much screen space being taken up by adverts (even for Champions)
The page also does not will my whole screen (my resolution is 1280x1024). I know this may be quite high but I would expect the page to fill the available resolution.
Also, the heading information for the training calendar does not format/look right and may need adjusting.
I like the new (?) feature under the calendar displaying today workout and log. A useful addition.
On another note I would like to see an icon for a rest day and also the ability to say that I did not complete a future workout. At the moment I just leave them there as not completed but I cannot see at a glance that this is the case.
Keep up the good work though.
Chris
The month timetable is too squashed - it was better when it was wider - much easier to use and understand.
I'm pretty neutral about the new design, but I do appreciate the effort of developing the site further. The only comment I have on a level of specifics is that I would prefer if the iPhone stuff was slightly smaller (I don't use an iPhone, but even if I did, it does take up a bit too much space on the screen).
In the training log:
I get a message that I'm not logged in despite the fact that I am indeed logged in and I can see my training log.
All in all, thanks for the effort put in developing the site. It is a highly appreciated tool.
Best Regards
Jonas
The three-column design on the training log page (with the calendar) is too cluttered. I think you should switch to two-columns or make one of the three columns narrower. (Right now, two are fairly wide and one is skinnier... it really should be the other way around.)
Also, (new feature request?) it would be nice if we could make our own workout templates to save into our training log. For example, I know that I often run the same route (with the same distance, time, etc) several times per week. It would be nice to not have to enter in all that info every single time.
Love it.
More user friendly.
In general I like the new layout. I agree with the non-iPhone group. A lot of real estate given up for that. Maybe base on preferences?
The new icons do seem a bit bulky, especially on the smaller calendar. Different icons for planned vs completed workouts would make it easier to see at a glance.
I like the Today's workouts and Today's log below the calendar. For site performance it would be nice to edit the workouts in that space rather than load a new page, then have to reload again to come back to the training log.
