Que Pasa Y'all? So how did that Portland marathon go, Ingrid? Sweet to hear Kami won for the women's.  Yup, I'm ready for a 26/30, too. Whenever's good for me. About 4 weeks ago i came up with a foot injury so I'm the recovery trail. Ended up DNS'ing the Firetrails50 yesterday. I volunteered at the last aid station (mile 47) and had a great time on the other side of the table. Next on my calendar are the Quad Dipsea and NorthFace Endurance 50 at the end of Nov, beginning of Dec. I'll have to see how my recovery goes.

Ingrid, great to hear from you, and i hope you do well at your first mary next month.  I am doing my first mary on November 16th, the inagural Pasadena Marathon.  Alot of us out here are doing it.  for many their first full or 1/2 mary. about 26/30 challenge. good question. well since so many of us are racing on the 16th we will need to adjust the challenge dates like 10/15 to 11/15 or just the month of october so that we can do a proper taper. not sure yet but some peeps out here have started asking about it cause they miss it and want it in some form. check back soon.  comments anyone???

Hey everyone! Thought I would check in and see how the 26/30 gang is doing. I am still training for my first marathon, the Portland Marathon on Oct. 5. I completed an 18-mile run last weekend and it felt great. I never imagined myself saying, "I've only got a ten mile run tonight" or "This weekend's run is only 14 miles." Dang, I feel like I've come a long way, if I may say so FYI, Seattle signed on as a Rock n Roll Marathon city for June. If I get through Portland unscathed, I'm definitely signing up for that one. Oh,and I'm ready for another 26/30 challenge this November...anyone else? Hope everyone is enjoying the end of summer! -Ingrid

I guess I wanted to see how others are training for it.  Even though it's in November, the longer distances in my training schedule will be in September and October.  It will be hot and I don't do well in heat.  Plus I am slow so I'll be spending more time under the sun.  Any tips? The course map is on the website now, and after checking it out a bit, I see there are several steep climbs.  Are people doing hill training?  Any tips?
