Event Details
Full DescriptionOn Oct 26 2006 MSgt Edward Martin suffered a masive stroke while on duty with the 15th Operational Weather Squadron at Scott Air Force Base. After months of rehab in various hospitals he was able to go home with his loving family. Last year we helped the Martin Family through a very tough time in thier lives by raising over $1600 in donations with over 80 riders, runners, and walkers doing more than 500 plus combined miles around Scott AFB. That's just through Miles for Marty. Overall the 15 OWS rasied over $10,000 helping pay for a new handicap van to transport Marty to medical appointments. This years goal is to have over 200 riders making this the best event yet! Come out and join us on June 7th @ 8am on Scott AFB to ride, run, or walk 6,12,18 or 30 miles! The 30 mile route will go off Scott AFB and turn around at the 15 mile point. Water stations will be on the route! Help us support the America Stroke Foundation and the Disabled America Veterans.
