description: This Hike/Bike route takes the East/West Trail head at Rocky Heights MS and connects at the top of the trail at Monarch Blvd to the HRCA trails. These trails are moderate two foot wide to single track trails that snake through the open space area on the south side of the Bluffs in Lone Tree. The trail begins and ends at the Middle School. There are three loops in the HRCA area. There are also two moderate technical areas for mountain bikers. This is located on the Waterin' Hole Loop. The other technical "Crossing" is the Creek crossing on the out and back loop of the Ponderosa Loop. Total mileage is 8.3 starting at RHMS up the climb to the HRCA area out the Wildcat Mountain Loop, Waterin' Hole Loop and the Ponderosa Loop. Then back down the East/West Trail to RHMS. Not to tough, but a fun run/ride. Moderate riding can do the entire 8.3 in under an hour. Do it twice for a good prep workout.
