Oh God, how I needed this ride. So much is on my mind. I left and began riding like a mad man, like a man possessed. I wasnt even sure where I was going, I just needed to go...and go hard. I didnt want to talk with anyone, I didnt want to interact with anyone. I rode til my lungs hurt, my legs were screaming and until I saw those little black swirling dots that I used to think were real, and I rode some more. I had to think, I had to ponder. I dont really remember the first half of my ride, my mind was going a hundred miles an hour. Thats what I like about cycling. If youve got things on your mind the body seems to take over and you end up 30 or 40 miles down the road. And maybe things are better, maybe youve figured out what needs to be done. If your mind is clear then you can just enjoy the pure beauty of you and your bike and the road. Tonight was the former. I rode instinctively and forcefully.
