location: Fernandina Beach, Florida distance: 20.48 mi. | Route Type: Run Tags: Boardwalk, Flat, Grass, High Traffic Area, Long Distance, Low Traffic Area, Park, Pavement And Sidewalk, Quiet, Residential Area, Scenic, Suburban, Waterfront created by: description: From the Starbucks strip mall head up Sadler to 8th street, make a left, and another left onto Amelia Road. This is a great shady road. Not too heavily travelled but there is NO sidewalk or bike lane so be alert. When you reach Simmons go left and take it all the way to Fletcher. Again, there is no walk way here so use caution. At Fletcher go right and stay in bike lane. Once you have passed the entrance to Peter's Point beach park veer a little left and get on the pathway that will curve along Amelia Island Parkway and pass the Ritz. Stay on this very nice shaded pathway and at Scott's Road Beach access make the left and go up to the boardwalk and back for a pretty ocean view. Head back to the path the same direction you came from and at Scott Road go left. Take this all the way to Buccaneer(First Coast Highway) and make a right. Stay in the grass until you cross Fletcher and you can get on the sidewalk. At Philips Manor go right and follow it until it dead ends into the parkway, go left. Stay in bike lane and go left on Canopy. This will let you out again on Buccaneer, go right. Pass the airport and turn left on the parkway. Right onto Via Del Rey. This will go thru the public golf course and road will turn into Bill Melton. At 1st avenue go left and take it all the way (long way) until it ends into Jon Robas, go right, and an immediate left onto Fletcher. Cross Sadler and keep going to Jasmine, go left. Up a little hill and make a right onto Jean LaFitte. Right before reaching the pedestrian bridge turn right onto Atlantic View and another right when you get to New York. You'll be at Fletcher again, proceed left. At Main Beach do the boardwalk until it lets out on Dolphin, left. Left again at Tarpon. Pass the skateboard park and make a right on Atlantic. Stay on Atlantic and it will take you to the other side of the island. Cross the r.road tracks and do the loop around Brett's Waterway Cafe. You'll be on the boardwalk for a bit. Return to Centre(same as Atlantic) and head back towards the ocean. Cross 8th, 14th, and at Citrona go right. Pass the high school, the Y, and finally at Sadler go right and return to Starbucks for a well earned coffee! View | Print | Bookmark | Write a Story | Tell-A-Friend | Send a Message |

location: Fernandina Beach, Florida distance: 6.20 mi. | Route Type: Run Tags: Beach, Boardwalk, Flat, Park, Pavement And Sidewalk, Quiet, Scenic, Waterfront created by: description: From Main Beach parking lot get on the boardwalk and take it to the end, going right and onto the beach. Usually, I hear you can get some hard packed sand, but at high tide, it was a challenge. Stay along the beach all the way until the pier at Ft Clinch. Go up the stairs, onto the new boardwalk, through the parking lot, and head out the road. It will eventually dead end and you will follow the signs to the exit, going left. This part of the run is wonderfully shady! Pretty with beautiful trees with lots of spanish moss. Pass the entrance gate(it costs you a dollar if you come in that way)and at Atlantic go left. When you reach Tarpon go left again. Pass the skate board park and continue until 3rd. Go right and another quick right onto N. Fletcher. It will end back at Main Beach. Go left on Dolphin and get back on the boardwalk. Nice public restroom to make a pit stop at, too. View | Print | Bookmark | Write a Story | Tell-A-Friend | Send a Message |

Follow all the way to Stanley(18th) and go left(hill again). Left on Highland(different Highland) and left on Lighthouse Loop. Come out and go up hill on N.Wolfe.
