- Long, hard, and hilly! But some stunning views of both the sea (Cannes in the distance) and of the inland hills and residential areas. Some really really stunning views!

Recommend doing it either early morning or in the evening if in summer, as its pretty damn hot out there. And bring a spare tube, a phone, and lots of water as you truly are in the middle of nowhere.

On the descent, do watch out cause it can be pretty treacherous!

The entire cycle is on a sort of rough mountain road. I've seen road cyclists go up it with normal road tyres. I personally went on a mountain bike and was fine...up to you really. I'd be tempted my a Tri-Cross bike....if I had one!

The cycle to the bottom of the mountain is along a cycle path next to a road. Quite safe. All in all the only risk you carry is the one of going off the edge of the mountain road and plunging to your death...which would clearly be your fault entirely. In fact, if you look at the map closely, you can see that at one point, the road going up separates from the road going down, creating a sort of one way loop. This means that you can take the corners better, and safer going both up and down, without the risk of a car taking a tight corner and blasting you off your bike head on!

Definetly worth the effort though!
