Bike Ride Description
Paved roads. Ride from Bartlesville, OK to start of Border Raiders in Lawrence, KS. Previous route used Prairie Spirit Trail between Colony and Garnett, but this is often too soft for a typical road bike to ride without sinking. Trying to ride hwy 169 in that same area is murderous (trust me, I know). So this route is modified to continue east at Colony and join up with hwy 59 which is on the Kansas Bicycling Map as being more bike friendly. Another alternative to route is to continue north at Fredonia and meet up with hwy 54 (which is commonly used by RAAM) through Yates Center to Iola.
