Bike Ride Description
On a clear day, this is a beautiful tour of Sonoma County. You begin from downtown Santa Rosa heading west along Hwy 12 via the Joe Rodota Trail/West County Trail. From Graton you head north to catch the gorgeous Westside Road and continue north through Healdsburg up to Canyon Road and east to Hwy 128. From there you begin to head back south along Hwy 128. In Geyserville there is a fantastic little mini-mart where the owners are VERY cyclist-friendly and allow you to use their restroom. They make sandwiches and can heat up the frozen burritos they have as well. After a refueling, you continue south on 128 to where it diverts to go further east to Calistoga. Be sure to stay right to get onto Chalk Hill Road. This is not a very heavily-trafficked road and a great one. Chalk Hill is a small and quick climb toward the end of the road. Once you come down into Windsor, you take Old Redwood Hwy back to downtown Santa Rosa. This is not a good road on weekdays as there is a ton of traffic, but weekends are okay.

Beautiful spring/summer/fall ride!!

This certainly looks like a great ride. I'm a bit confused by the 15 mile marker though. Does the route loop back on itself at that point and resume due north, or is this an error in the mapping of it?
