Bike Ride Description
This is a route from Washington, DC to the waterfront trail between National Harbor and the Woodrow Wilson Bridge Trail. The route starts at South Capitol and O Street SW (west side of South Cap near Nationals Park). It crosses the Frederick Douglass Bridge and uses the South Ccaapitol Street trail to the entrance to Anacostia Naval Air Station. It is then on-road on South Capitol Street and Overlook Avenue to the Naval Research Lab. It goes under I-295 and through Blue Plains. It picks up the Oxon Cove Trail to the Oxon Hill Farm. On Oxon Hill Road, the route turns on National Avenue at the entrance to National Harbor. For those wishing to join the Maryland convoy to the bridge for the 1 pm opening on June 6, turn left into the Oxon Hill Park and Ride Lot.
