Goodyear Proving Grounds, 5 mile circle, 2000 foot elevation
5 mile Goodyear Tire test track at bout 2000 foot elevation near San Angelo, Texas. Not sure if it is banked or not for high speeds. It is a five mile circle, same as the former GM Mesa five mile loop in Arizona. The outer lane is very weathered and cracked in these 2010 satellite photos. Maybe that is deliberate, as it could serve as a rough road. I cant see if their is a banking or a guardrail on the outer edge. In 2019, the track is in total disrepair. trees are seen growing on the track, and the vast majority of the track is overgrown. There is however, other tracks that are part of the Goodyear facility just southwest of it, including a large long letter J-shaped track, that appear well maintained. There are also multiple smaller tracks within this facility. - a 5 mi cycling route in San Angelo, Texas
