Comeback Trail III - Back in the Saddle

The bike shop called yesterday morning, Thursday, and told me my bike was ready.  No fractures in the frame, just a new hangar and some labor involved.    Got a new helmet, too, since my other was involved in my crash all my bike contacts here said throw it away and get a new one.  Picked it up and took it home.  My wife asked me to wait till she was home before I went for a ride so about 6:30 she and I headed out for my first ride since the crash two months ago. My balance was a bit off, weaving way too much, but expected. Pain in my left hand while riding that I expected also.  We rode about 3 miles.  Didn't bother my legs at all (result of going to the gym the last couple of weeks).  Am now planning on riding as much as I can once or twice daily to get my mileage back up to pre-crash miles, weather and hand permitting.  BTW - before we headed out I found my old biking gloves in one of the pockets of my bike trunk -- been lookin' for them - they're covered with dry blood and shredded pretty good, especially the left hand.  Glad I had them on, they're full hand gloves, because if I had not, the overall damage on the gloves would have been all over my hands much more severe than as is.  God looking after me in another small way.

Back in the saddle feels real good!
