Track season
Track Season 2008 I was in the 1 mile run and 800 meter run. I could never break 6:00 minutes in the 1 mile run. I would train hard all track season, putting in more miles than the other kids, just going that extra step. I was in the 7th grade. I accually ran worse in my first two races, than I did in the 6th grade. I was running 6:12, 6:09. But after them first two races I was getting better times. So the second to last race I ran 6:00 minutes flat. Last race conferance, I was in the slower race, and I was the best runner in that race. The bigger kids running 5:30 and lower were in the faster race. So I took 2nd in that race and finally broke 6:00. I ran a 5:55. Second to the kid that beat me that ran a 5:47. I was so proud of myself. So then I ran 2 to 3 miles a day everyday, all summer, getting ready for cross country season. In middle school cross country you run 1.75 miles. My first 2 races I was running like 6:05 miles for splits. Then the last 4 races all my mile splits were under 6:00 minutes. My second to last race I ran a 5:45 mile split. Personal Record! Boy was I proud. Then the last race, a home meet. I ran a 5:40 mile split, I was so happy, and finished a 5th place in that race. All year I was in the top 5 and I was so proud of myself for pushing myself when I didnt feel like running some days. But I did. Because I knew I would get better. I wanted to be in the top 3 for Cross Country. And I took, 4th out of 75 first race. Second race: 7th out of 350. Third race:5th out of 350. Fourth race:2nd out of 70. Fifth race: 4th out of 75 Sixth race: 5th out of 120. I have a goal to run a 5:10 mile for up coming track season. I'm training all winter to do that. So if you are an okay runner. I'd advise you to go out and run just 2 or 3 miles a day. Beleive me just running will help you out a lot and get you medals. And get a role moduel. I have one my cousin Nathan Stymeist. The best guy runner in Oconto Falls. And now a Sophmore in UW-Oshkosh. This is a great sport. Very Challenging, and very fun!
