Description:: This ride goes through miles of absolutely gorgeous country. The country roads are excellent, I rode it on a skinny tired bicycle with no issues. I would highly recommend taking a bike with a triple chainring, or your "Pro" set of legs, especially for the hill that starts at mile 19. There are restaurants at Kampsville and Hardin, but beside that you need to be self-sufficient. The River Road is lightly trafficked, but also has no shoulders, so make sure you are comfortable on a shared roadway. The roads on the second third of the course have miles of tree-arched roads, but they are also quite narrow. You will probably need to pull off if you encounter farm equipment. I only passed one motorcycle in that whole stretch. Enjoy, and post your comments!
