Ride of Silence route, 5:30 p.m., May 21, 2008. Open to the Public. Start on Reserve Avenue at Parks & Rec. parking lot next to Armory. Easy 9 mile ride, about half on Greenways. This is intentionally a slow paced ride. It will be 10-12 mph. Helmet required. It is ridden to honor cyclists who have been killed or injured while cycling, and to raise awareness of both cyclists and motorists of the need always to ride and drive safely. Wear a black arm band to honor someone you know who has been killed in an accident while cycling, a red arm band to honor someone you know who has been injured in an accident while cycling.
