This route gives me a lot of different riding environments in a very short period of time, and that's what I like about it. It is mainly flat (but if you want hills, take a left up Sawyer Ave when you get onto Pleasant St) Plenty of parking along the first mile of the route, since it is a park and beach. Great views of the water. There is also a quiet little parking lot at the end of Mt Vernon Street. At this point the route isn't paved, and is a little rough, until you come out in the shadow of the UMass building. Quiet ride again until you come out at Morrissey Blvd. I head south for a little bit, then cross the street and spend a little time at Malibu Beach. From here, you can follow the rest of my route, or decide to go your own way back to Pleasure Bay.
