I'm a former duathlete, who was once the Ohio Grand Prix Points Champion in my age group (40-44). I got tired of training and racing and basically said fu*k it all for the last 5-6 'cause I'd had enough after 30 years of training and competition. During those 6 years, I've lived, worked, and partied hard. Although training was somewhat off and on, I'm trying to enjoy training for more consistently for the health vaule and without the pressure of competing right now. It's tough, 'cause I tend to live in the past a lot and my training times have really plundered with time and age (currently 52). I'll need to be VERY realistic with my goals and focus on enjoying the aging process and always remember that I'm doing SO MUCH more and to a greater degree than most 52 year olds. Who knows, maybe I'll compete again.
