Tour de Cure® is the American Diabetes Association's signature, cycling fundraiser held in 80 sites and 40 states nationwide! In 2008, more than 35,000+ cyclists raised $15.7 million to support the mission of the American Diabetes Association! Tour de Cure has routes designed for everyone from the occasional rider to the experienced cyclist. Whether participants ride 10 miles or 100 miles, they will travel supported from start to finish with rest stops, food to fuel the journey, and fans to cheer them on!

Tour de Cure Jacksonville will celebrate it's 5th Anniversary in 2009!Routes feature our backbone, two-day, 200K with a different route each day, one-day options on Saturday only for 100K and 100 miles, and new in 2009, a Fun Ride of 10-15, perfect for any fitness and cyclist level! The Jax Tour takes you through some of North Florida’s most beautiful countryside.

The St. Augustine finish line festivities and SAIRA Saturday Night Celebration take place in the OceanPier Pavilion, 350 A1A Beach Blvd., St. Augustine Beach, FL 32082. The evening's schedule is designed for relaxation and fellowship, with great food and drink, a short program and a live band for dancing if your saddle isn't too sore.

Lodging is available at the host hotel, Castillo Real and any of St. Augustine’s other hotels, bed & breakfasts, condos and campgrounds. Special discounts are available to riders and volunteers if you book accommodations in advance. High service makes continues to make teh Jax Tour de Cure special; luggage valet service delivers your bag to your hotel while you ride, all festivities are within walking distance of your hotel. Rest stops are 10-12 miles apart on EVERY route and lavishly stocked, luxury vehicles patrol the route along with Safety Escort Riders of Florida (SERF) on motorcycle to assist you with any need.

The donations you collect support the American Diabetes Association (ADA) mission: to prevent and cure diabetes and to improve the lives of all people affected by diabetes. The Association funds more than $42 million in diabetes research annually and provides education and advocacy, along with local programs like Diabetes EXPO-sed in November and Camp JADA for kids with type 1 diabetes every June. 23.6 million Americans have diabetes; 25 % of those with type 2 do not yet know they have it. 57 million Americans have pre-diabetes and 1 in 3 children born after the year 2000 will develop type 2 diabetes if present trends continue unchecked.
