I&M Canal Trail from Hinsdale
This route starts and ends with hills so it's not completely flat. However, the bike trail along the canal is fast and flat, so the main part of the ride is relatively easy. There is no traffic on the paved trail, and only about 8 miles is along Madison which is bike friendly, but higher traffic. This is a good route as you increase distance.
