Stage Coach Inn Rush Valley - Pony Express Ride
Start at historic Stage Coach Inn in Fairfield. Ride west to 5-Mile Pass; keep right to stay on UT-73 along the mountains past the roads to Mercur and Ophir. You will get a great downhill (about 5 miles) from about the Ophir road junction to the junction with UT-36. Head south on UT-36 for about 17-18 miles to the turnoff to Faust. Turn left (east) toward Faust. You will ride along a section of the old Pony Express route and on back to 5-Mile Pass. From there you will get another good 5 mile downhill back to the start. No services anywhere along the route, so take plenty of snacks and water. This ride is best done in the spring or fall when it is not too hot.
