A group of us are thinking about doing a charity ride from John o Groats to Land's End next year.
We are just starting to think about a route and would be very interested to hear from anyone who has done it recently. What route did you take? How hard going? What are the gradients like?
We are likely to be restricted to using main roads as we are looking to do it in a little over a week so need the quickest route possible with a mileage of approx 100/day. Obviously we want to avoid the really hideous roads for traffic as that's never fun eh?!
We are going to take a support vehicle to strike camp in the morning/prepare feeds/make camp in the evening so we can concentrate on the riding and as little else as possible.
Like I say, any tips ans advice would be greatly appreciated!
Cheers all
I am doing Lands End to John OGroats starting on 18th August. I have been advised to avoid the A30 as it is a dangerous stretch of road. We are a team of 8 with a support vehicle, and like you need to do it in 10days averaging 100 miles. I based my route from the CTC website which gives 3 different routes depending on your time factor.

Hi
I am thinknig of doing the jogle & was wondering if any charities do it as I don't fancy lugging all the things I need with me & I dont think my wife fancies 10 days driving ahead of me either!, I am looking to do it in about the 7 - 10 day range as I am self employed & can't really afford more days than that really. T
here are some guide books on play.com etc by Brian Smailes called the lands end to jon o groats cycle guide, I guess its a guide!!!!
