    When plotting courses in which paths are parallel, or repeat (though not so-much as to use the out-and-back or loop option), it is difficult to tell which direction you should be going at a time.

    See http://www.mapmyrun.com/run/united-states/md/brooklyn-park/1080105180 as an example:  Someone that is not famaliar with the course would have trouble understanding, especially between 2, 3 and 4 mile markers.

    Perhaps the blue line, which represents the path, could have a type of directional arrow inlaid into the line?
