I am a new user to this Forum. I have had a recumbent bike since 1998. I now have a TourEasy EX bike. This is my third recoment, starting with a TE, had a Gold Rush for a short time, and then went back to my TourEasy.

I've done about a dozen week long organized tour in Wisconsin, Illinois, and Iowa. I have also done some touring with a couple other riders for 3-days, 7-days, and 10-days.

I'm interested in talking to other recumbent riders that enjoy touring.

This is a bit of a resurrection, but Karl you are not alone!  Many people from all walks/rides of life use and enjoy recumbents for touring, racing, and daily use.

Personally, I ride a recumbent trike for the stability, speed, and cargo capacity. I own 2 models- an 2005 Anthrotech, which is my 'utility truck', and a 2008 Taiwan import called an OTrike (same as a GForcebike's XTC) which I currently use as a long distance tourer and in-town racer.  The Anthrotech has about 7,000km and the OTrike around 3,000km.

Both were ridden during previous years' tours from Copenhagen, Denmark to Mannheim, Germany for the annual SPEZI bike expo in nearby Germersheim.

Recumbents are great HPVs and I hope more people get a chance to try them out and see how they can make cycling fun again.

Due to a serious cycling accident involving a pickup truck, I now ride a recumbent trike. If I had know how pleasant recumbents are, I probably would've switched prior to my accident.

The trike is very awesome. There's just so much carrying capacity to them. I can see more people riding them in the future!

So again a bit of a resurrection here, but I too am a recumbent rider for a few years now. Raced mountain bikes many years ago when full suspension was just a dream (heck, suspended forks were just a new novelty that "real racers didn't need" at the time!). Had no particular need for a recumbent three years ago, just remembered trying one somewhere in the past, and I really wanted one. Now I ride a standard Vision, and a full suspension Vision R42 that has been converted for offroad duty. It's been affecionately dubbed Frankenbike by the local bent riders I know, performs stunningly on all but the most technical of desert single track, and I would love to put together a tour for charity. I am just starting to explore these forums and more of the features of this site, but feel free to message me directly through here or by e-mail (DJAProperties at google's good old mail [gmail.com]). Hope all is well, happy riding, and may the miles be as many as the smiles!

Glad to see some talk on here about recumbent trikes.

I'm in Tucson, AZ and ride a ICE trice Q and am wanting to meet others for rides.  See my blog:  http://tucsontricetriketrips.blogspot.com/
