As a body/mind fitness instructor I am always looking at the posture and technique of runners that I encounter in different places throughout the week. One afternoon while in Rumson, NJ with my family, I saw a truly beautiful and inspirational sight. A runner who was passing through the downtown was actually using the full potential of her body's design for movement and power! Both her posture and technique where absolutely impeccable. Her running was an extraordinary display of effortless power, confidence, and ease.
Unfortunately this is not always the case for most runners. I see a lot of people with problematic posture and technique limping down the road with an expression of pain and agony on their faces. This is not running, or at least it doesn't have to be. The effortless ability displayed by the woman in Rumson is easily attainable by any runner who is willing to take time to learn about their body's natural design for movement and power. In just a few lessons a runner can be on his/her way to an exciting personal transformation. Imagine how much energy can be saved through more efficient use of posture and technique. Imagine how much better runners would feel after learning to run with effortless power, confidence, and ease.
