    Hey all.

I've recently registered for the Brooklyn half marathon on May3rd.

I've also registered for the NYC five borough bike tour on May 4th.

Some people that I know have been telling me it is too much for one weekend and I should do one or the other. But most of those people either don't run or bike. Or they participate in a different sport all together.

I'd like to know what people who run on a regular basis think of this plan. I don't want to injure myself. But I also don't want to back out of these commitments.

    Thanks

depends on whether you want to race both of them or just complete them. I'd say if you want to complete them, then you are fine, but if you intend on racing your best, then I'd pick one or the other

I see. Thanks for the reply.

I planned to just complete them. The bike tour really isn't a race anyway. And I run much more than I bike. I think I'll just try and enjoy the weekend!

I suggest you just take care of yourself and enjoy them. What harm could it do?

Depends on your fitness level.  I ran a 5k in 20 mins on a Saturday and a 1/2 marathon in 1:42 the next day back in the fall.  I felt great but I have been training regularly for years.
