I have looked through the old posts, and haven't seen explicit instructions. All the posts seem to say "just import the data", but nothing shows for me. I don't mean to be clueless, but it seems like everyone can do this but me. I have been able to get a couple of routes from MMR to the 305, and a couple routes going from the 305 to MMR, but I can not get any workout data coming back the other way.
I have the latest version of the (worthless) GTC software, and the latest version of Firefox.
I love this site and don't want to use another unless I can't do this import/ export.
I am not even as computer literate as you, I am trying to get my info off the 305 to the MMR, and all I get is a blank screen......when I select Garmin GPS.....so hopefully you will get an answer that I can use....Thanks
When you say all you get is a blank screen when you select Garmin GPS - where are you selecting that??? The only place I have seen that is when I open a route to edit it, I can do a "save as" in the Garmin format, but this simply allows me to export a route to the Garmin. Are you seeing this somewhere in the "My Training Log" section???
It feels good to finally have a glimmer of success with this. I can't imagine why they would bury that button/ function there, but... whatever.
I was able to follow your directions and get the workouts to display in the pop up window. I was able to save the route and the workout, but not all the workout data appeared (the only thing that appeared was the distance). No heart rate or time info came through... Any ideas?
Also, if I am reading your reply correctly, it seems as though the only way you can save a workout is by "back dooring" your way through the "create a map" function - is this true? Does this mean that each run will have to have a new map created every day? This will lead to about 300 maps after a year - seems kind of redundant...
Is there a way to only save all the training data without saving the route data?
yeags: I don't know of any way to import JUST training data without the map.
When Import it does pull in workout time, but not heart rate or elevation. Also, time appears to be TOTAL ELAPSED TIME, not moving time. e.g if I stop my watch for 2 minutes mid-run, it still includes the time in the run.
Question 2) If I'm adding a workout based on a route that I already have saved, I do it manually from the Training Calendar > Add New Activity function.
I agree it would be cool to be able to import 1) Route only, 2) Route AND Training Data 3) Training Data Only - I believe it can only do #1 and #2 only.
