read Color of Routes

Comment re my previous post. Want to make clear this a minor point.  There is room for improvement, but the color confusion is mitigated by being elevation/descent. I'd not like my comment to overshadow the work done in making the improvement.  The continued improvements to this site ARE appreciated.

Aaargh.  And now the color used in the elevation graph compounds the color problem. GREAT new feature, providing color to show slope of elevation or descent, but why choose those colors?  Once again a large minority of male bike riders are color blind, finding discrimination between red and green difficult. Please provide different color choices, or allow users to modify the color palette in some way.

One thing I've realized is the elevation doesn't know about bridges.  It's funny to see how much I drop and rise in some areas when I am actually level on a bridge.

I'm not a premium member.  I know that as a free member I can't read private messages.  I didn't know that I couldn't read the messages I send to other people.  I can't even tell who I sent messages to.  I know you want to get everybody over to the paid service, but maybe you should let people read for free what they wrote.

read Please fix the javascript on the number fields

by: Free MembertheInnkeeper - Nov 3 2008, 3:39PM

Go to Create New Workout / Activity Go to the Time Taken fields. In hours, minutes or seconds, put the cursor between the two 00.  as in 0|0. Delete the first 0 using backspace. After you delete the 0, the cursor moves to the end of the line (after the last 0).  If you use your arrows to move left, it just moves your cursor back to the end of the number.  It has to do with the JS function, numbersOnly(). Instead of running that on 'onKeyUp', run it on 'onBlur'

description: This route takes you from the Historic Cotton Mill Studios in the Jingletown section of Oakland CA... east towards the hills to Montclair... to Temescal Park... up Tunnel Road (to the high point near Sibley Park, 1450ft elevation)... then south along Skyline... to Joaquin Millare Road for a fast descent... a dog leg over to 35th... then back home. It's a fun and challenging workout which is "classic" Oakland, in the sense that you go from an industrial area, through the "semi-hood" up a canyon road into the forested hills overlooking the entire east bay with views of Oakland and San Francisco... an amazing spectrum.

The route is approximately 18 miles long... everything from rolling hills to 12% grades. Around the San Pablo Resevoir and the Briones Resevoir... what's locally referred to as the "3 Bears". A great time trial.

description: A wonderful journey up into Morgan Territory Regional Preserve. Starting at Pleasant Hill bart station, through the "old west" town of CLAYTON... up Marsh Creek Road and Morgan Territory Rd (oak & pine shaded, twisty climbing; badly paved for 9 miles with some 15% grades mixed in)...to the TOP of the preserve (approx 2000 feet elevation) where there is water and bathrooms and tables to sit at, snack and feel smug. Then you enjoy a "world class" twisting descent (1500 feet in 3 or 4 miles at 40+mph using your brakes)...then a wonderful set of rolling roads (Manning, Highland), just perfect for paceline riding into the usually stiff breezes. Back thru DANVILLE (with obligatory Peet's coffee stop!). Then back to the bart station of your choosing... in this case LAFAYETTE bart.
