description: One of the most difficult rides in Shasta County. A good starting point is the Millville cemetery. Buzzard Roost Road has one of the most difficult climbs you'll encounter in the north state. Water refills can be had at the store in Whitmore (nice if you buy a gatorade or a snickers while you're there so they'll continue to help cyclists with hydration needs).

description: A nice East Redding ride. There is little traffic, but also few shoulders on much of the ride. The highlight is the rollers on Dry Creek where one can reach some decent speeds. The route is relatively flat with one or two brief climbs of little significance. If one wishes to add some climbing they could cut left on dry creek road after Bear Mountain road and ride to the Silverthorn or Jones Valley resorts before continuing south on Dry Creek and following my map.
