description: Humdinger! You want stout tires. Coming down Gov. Mountain would be best on a MTB. It would be worth riding the pavement slower. Imagine a road made of fist-sized rocks. Like the McDonalds fun-pit, but hard, sloped, and more monochromatic. This is Government Mt. Road.

description: This is a gravel ride. There are 12 miles of gravel in five sections that will make you hurt, especially if you bring comrades to spar with. Puncture resistance is key, because you don't want to be left in the dust with a flat, during an acceleration on Martin Road, for example. This ride varies with the seasons as gravel is resurfaced (loose) and gets worn in (smooth gravel). At one extreme, you will find yourself hauling down Wagoner Road, while at the other, you will be checking your cassette for more gears as you grind your way up the daunting inclines of 7 Mile Road. Relish this ride.
