Bike Ride Description
This is the 160 km route for the inaugral Tour De Kilkenny being run by Marble City Cyclers in conjunction with Avonmore and in aid of the Barretstown Charity. Anybody who thinks Kilkenny is a relatively flat county is in for a bit of a shock. None of the climbs are killers but there are plenty of them as you can see if you have a look at the elevation profile of the course. A real effort has been made to keep the course away from the main roads and heavy traffic, the result is a course on quiet country roads with fantastic scenery. The quality of the road surface of the course is also excellent. There will be a number of drinks/food stops on the route which I will put on once they have been decided upon.
