Bike Ride Description
About 1.5 hours drive east of Tokyo is the large lake “Kasumigaura”, located just north of Narita Airport in the flat countryside of Chiba.
A long ride around a big lake on mostly paved quiet roads.
Riding clockwise the first half is easy enough, the north and east shores have a good tarmac road running on top of the levy (flood defence) with no cars and only the odd fisherman it was a quiet and fast ride. Scenic and peaceful views of fields and lakes.
The south side of the lake is harder, as the paved road was not so good and ended a few times, sometimes had to ride on the main road with the traffic. But the south side is the most rural and arguably the most natural - hard to find in this part of Japan. Enjoy!
