Fallbrook - De Luz - Ross Lake - Temecula - Rainbow 46
start from Mobil Station on Hwy 76 at Old 395, ride NNW thru Fallbrook to De Luz Rd, veer off up the hill on Harris Trails up and down gorgeous narrow lanes to Ross Lake and rejoin De Luz to Rancho California down into Temecula. Return via Rainbow Canyon and Rice Canyon. A bit of hairy riding on Hwy 76 from Rice Canyon (it gets much better once you reach Rosemary's rock quarry... road adds another lane plus a big road shoulder, tho the shoulder is usually filled with rock pebbles). Don't bomb down Rice Canyon. Road surface very bumpy with lots of ruts that are hidden in shadow. There are no water stop between Fallbrook and Temecula, and also none between Temecula and the finish point at Mobil Sta. Stock up on water in Fallbrook and in Temecula. No climb longer than 1 mile. Most of riding in very low traffic very narrow country roads. Lots of up and down's, a few 50 yds climb of 14% grade.
