Woodward Avenue is the world\'s first paved road. In 1909 the portion between Six and Seven Mile Roads was paved. Starting in Birmingham the ride travels to Pontiac and back to Birmingham and then down Woodward to Hart Plaza with a stop at Campus Martius. The return trip will mostly be on side streets including Second Avenue in Detroit, Livernois, Oak Park Blvd., Manistee, Scotia, Mortenson, Catalpa, and Pierce. Paved roads, mostly in good repair and the southern portion will have about 200\' of climbing. Slightly more for the first/northern portion.
