Description of this Bike Ride

This ride's start going up Quimby Road towards Mt. Hamilton Road is pretty bad if you don't bring your steep climbing legs. But the ride's end coming down Sierra Road more than makes up for it, with a straightaway downhill descent that clocks in at nearly 50 mph of pure aero speed. In between this ride's start and finish, there's a broad mix of mountain climbing, rolling hills, flats, and lots of scenery of livestock, birds, and squirrels (and the occasional but infrequent young deer) darting across the road. It can feel desolate on San Antonio Valley Road and Mines Road, so bring and refill on liquids. There's also a general store at the junction of these two roads.
